We will be starting another nine-week Beginner 5K Running Training program on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013 for our next GRR race; the 3rd Annual Spicy Green Bean Run Diva Run 5K which will be held on Sunday, April 7th, 2013.

Our club continues to grow with each beginner program due to its huge success. This is possible because we have such wonderful members that graciously give a little bit of their time to help a fellow runner in reaching their goal of completing a 5K!

We already have 23 people signed up for our next Beginner Runner Program and we still have a month before our next session starts!

As I ask for your support, I can honestly tell you what a rewarding experience volunteering has been for me as well as other club members. Our beginners are very appreciative of our time that we support them. Join us for this next session and see for yourself!

Think back to when you or a friend began running. If you did this program like I did, then you know how important it is to have the volunteers to help you along your running journey to completing your first 5K! Think of your Saturday runs and how much more enjoyable and easier they are for you knowing someone else is going to be there.

Can you spare 45-60 minutes to assist with at least a couple sessions? You can volunteer as much as you would like, throughout the 9 week program.

The Beginner Group will be meeting two times a week:

  • Saturday mornings at Riverfront Park at 8:30 AM
  • Tuesday evenings at 6 PM at Rotary Field

As a member and volunteer our goal is to provide the beginners support during their runs. We are there to run beside them, motivate and get to know them, answer their questions or find an answer for them if we do not know. We show up regardless of the weather in order to help them succeed one training session at a time. They know that someone will always be there for them which is the most important thing for their success.
