Pay it Forward – Calling for Volunteers for Our Get Fit to 5K Training

We would love for our members to volunteer a little of your time to make a BIG difference in another runners training.

All we are asking for is for you to pay it forward as much as you can by coming to run with a newer runner during our training program that begins on Saturday, September 6th at 8:30am from Riverfront Park.  Training goes for nine weeks up until our Race To Fill The Pantry 5K.  We meet on Saturdays at 8:30am at Riverfront Park and Tuesday evenings at 6pm at Rotary Field.

Trust me when I tell you the gratitude these runners feel just by knowing that someone will be there for them.  I can tell you also what a positive experience it is for each and every volunteer as well.  I have been on both sides; a beginner as well as a volunteer as well as lead coach in the past for these groups and they were always very gratifying experiences. We need all different pacers to help.   You don’t have to help every session but as much as you can is greatly appreciated (whatever is right for you).

What do you do as a volunteer: run with a participant or a few participants at their pace for the training distance.  It’s as simple as that.

Please help when you can.  You will be glad that you did.  What better way to welcome potential new GRR members.
